International Golfers visiting London to view the Olympics need not miss out on their
weekly round while they are here and they could win a medal for their country!
Many
courses will be offering Olympic medals for a performance in an open golf competition
called "The Spectator Olympics" says Neil Sjoberg secretary/manager of Epping Golf
Club in Essex
Throughout July and August this year golfers may enter the Spectator
Olympics as many times as they like. Players can hire equipment (if they dont have
their own) and play an 18 hole scratch medal round competing against all others in
their category for the duration of the Olympics. Each competitor will receive a certificate
stating that they represented their country in the 2012 London Olympics. The top
three scores in each of the six categories will recieve a Gold,Silver or Bronze medal
posted to their home.
The categories are Male and female Juniors, Adults or Seniors
Any other sports clubs wishing to offer the same service can obtain a Spectator Olympics
